Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of the Organizing Committee of the Congress, it is our great pleasure to invite you to participate in the Second Congress of the Physiatrists of the Republic of Macedonia with international participation, which will be held from 15-th until 18-th September 2010 in Ohrid, Republic of Macedonia.

This Congress will cover a wide range of topics and will provide important information about current acknowledgments in the field of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. We cordially welcome you, to contribute to the exchange of professional experiences and suggestions and stay in touch with the latest and most appropriate approaches concerning treatments in this field.

We hope that your stay in Ohrid will be both pleasant and educational.

GENERAL INFORMATION


LANGUAGE

The official languages of the Congress are Macedonian and English.


CONGRESS LOCATION

"Metropol Lake Resort", Ohrid, Republic of Macedonia


CONGRESS DATES

The Congress will start on Wednesday, 15-th September 2010 and will end on Saturday, 18-th September 2010. The congress opening ceremony followed by a welcome reception, will be held on the evening of Wednesday, 15-th September, at the hotel Metropol, at 19:00. Working hours of the congress will be from 09:00 to 19:00 on the 16-th and 17-th September and from 09:00 to 11:00 on the 18-th September 2010.


WEATHER

The Weather in the middle of September in Ohrid is usually warm and pleasant during the day and cool during the night. You can take a swimming suit, but it is recommended to bring some warm clothes too.


CERTIFICATE OF ATTENDANCE

A certificate of Attendance will be issued to all registered participants. The Congress has an accreditation by the Doctor’s Chamber of Macedonia, and participants will get certificates and credits for CME.


OFFICIAL IDENTIFICATION CARDS

All registered participants will receive a personalized badge when collecting registration documents. This badge must be clearly visible all the time, and grants access to the scientific sessions and the commercial exhibition.


HOSPITALITY DESK

Hospitality desk will be open from 17:00 untill 19:00 on the 15-th September, from 09:00 until 19:00 on the 16-th and 17-th September and from 09:00 untill 11:00 on the 18-th September 2010.


LETTER OF INVITATION

On request, the organizing committee will be pleased to send letters of invitation to the delegates. This letter,however does not constitute any commitment by the Organizers to cover registration fees, accommodation, travel expenses or other costs.


 

ABSTRACT INFORMATION

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE PREPARING AND SUBMITTING YOUR ABSTRACT!

An abstract can be submitted on the e-mail address: fizijatri@yahoo.com. which you can also find on the web site of the Macedonian Association of Physiatrists: www.fizijatri.org.mk.

Deadline for abstract submission is 20-th April 2010.


ABSTRACT CHARACTERISTICS

Language: Abstracts can be written in Macedonian or English.

Topic: Abstracts must be divided into topics. Select the correct topic for your abstract. The content of the abstract must be topic related.

Spacing: For standardization, the acceptable length of the abstract should contain no more than 2400 printable characters (without spaces), including authors’ details and institution,body of the abstract and references.

Font: Abstracts font should be Ariel, size 10 pts.

Title: Abstract title should be in capital letters, not bold, not underlined.

Author(s): Not in capital letters. Put author's initial of first names first, without titles, and then family name. Put co-author's names in same manner. Underline the name of the presenting author.

Affiliation: Not in capital letters. Put institution, city and country of author and co-authors. When more than one institution is mentioned, please identify institutions and authors with corresponding numbers. Put the number after the author's name and before the name of the institution (e.g. S. M. Stankovska 1, B. Jakimovski 1, C. Nikoloski 2, 1 University Rheumatology Clinic-Skopje, 2 Medical centre - Veles 2, R. Macedonia).

Abstract sections: The abstract should be structured into the following sections:

  1. Title which clearly indicates the nature of the investigation
  2. Background
  3. Objectives
  4. Methods
  5. Results
  6. Conclusions
  7. References (* put no more than three references)

Choose oral or poster presentation. However the final decision for the form of presentation will be given by the Congress Scientific Committee.

  • Two reviewers will judge the abstracts according to the scientific value, potential clinical value, suitability of methods to aims, conclusions confirmed by objective results, objectivity of statements, originality of work and overall impression.
  • The final decision about acceptance of an abstract will be taken by the Congress Scientific Committee.
  • Authors will receive a notification of acceptance or rejection for presentation until 1-st August 2010 on e-mail address.
  • An abstract should not be submitted if it has been identically presented on a previous occasion.
  • Accepted abstracts will be published in the Congress abstract book.
  • Please ensure that your abstract does not contain spelling, grammatical or scientific errors, as it will be reproduced exactly as submitted. No proofreading will be done.

Notification of abstract acceptance will be sent not later than 1-st August 2010.


INSTRUCTIONS FOR ABSTRACT PRESENTATION

Oral presentation:

  • Time schedule for oral presentation is 7 minutes for selected papers.
  • Time schedule for plenary lectures and invited speaker's presentations is up to 20 minutes.
  • The participants will have at their disposal equipment for power point presentations.
  • Please, check on your presentation and the equipment at least half an hour before presentation.

Poster presentation:

  • The size of a poster has to be within the limits of 80 cm width and 90 cm height.
  • Posters should be placed before 09:00 h and removed after 19:00 h on the day of presentation.
  • The presenting author will be requested to be available for the discussion during the poster viewing session from 13:30-14:00.
